When using HPE Smart Update Manager (SUM) for an iLO remote-based firmware update to any ProLiant Gen11 or Gen12 server running a Microsoft Windows operating system, the Intel Quick Assist Technology (QAT) software driver will not be updated. HPE products such as OneView that use SUM to process updates will display a yellow exclamation mark in the Device Manager. This issue occurs because when SUM is running on the host Microsoft Windows OS, it reads the PCI information from the OS and is able to detect and provide the ability to select the Intel QAT component properly. But when running remotely, SUM performs only a firmware inventory; therefore, this OS software component will not be detected for component updates.
