The grow validation operation will fail when attempting to use the HPE Synergy Grow function from a single enclosure Redundant configuration to a two enclosure Highly Available (HA) configuration when the HPE Virtual Connect SE 100Gb F32 Modules for Synergy are used with network uplink sets with the configured X1 or X2 ports.The following error message will be displayed when the existing logical enclosure is reparented to the new enclosure group as part of the grow operation:Unable to update logical Enclosure: LEUnable to change the enclosure group to "EG_NEW" because settings in the group or a referenced logical interconnect group are not compatible with the current enclosure group.Resolution: Select a different enclosure group. Alternatively, edit the new enclosure group and its logical interconnect groups to be compatible with the current enclosure group.While no downtime will be experienced, the grow operation will be unable to proceed and the above error message will be displayed.
Any HPE Synergy 12000 Frame environment when growing from 1 to 2 frames in the Description section above managed by HPE OneView.
This issue is fixed by updating toHPE OneView 10.0or later.As a workaround, perform the following actions:Remove uplink-set with X1 or X2 ports in the current Logical Interconnect Group (LIG) and then update the LIG.Continue the grow operation.After the grow operation is successful, add back the uplink-set with the X1 or X2 ports.The workaround above will cause downtime for the networks passing through the X1 or X2 ports.If this workaround cannot be performed because of the downtime involved, contact HPE support team and reference document a00146590en_us.
