When adding an HPE Gen11 server to HPE OneView, the following error may be displayed, and the server will go into an "Unmanaged" state:"Issue: Inventory collection has failed for a few sub-resources due to an issue parsing the response from management processor.Resolution: Reset the management processor and retry the operation. If the problem persists, look at any other error conditions in the activity view and correct those, possibly even consider a firmware update before contacting your authorized support representative."The Gen11 server will also be in the Unmanaged state, as shown below:When adding a Gen10 or Gen10 Plus server to OneView, the following error message may be displayed, but the server willnotbe in an "Unmanaged" state."Issue: Unable to fully discover the port map information for the server hardware. Unable to discover network adapter information because the data returned from the management processor was not as expected.Resolution: Try the following, one at a time, until the problem is resolved:Verify that any adapters in the server are properly installed and configured. Consult the HPE OneView Support Matrix to ensure that all adapters are supported in this server, and then refresh the server.Reset the iLO via the server hardware iLO management interface and wait two minutes for the iLO reset to complete.Log into iLO and verify that the adapters are being discovered by iLO and are listed in the System Information — Device Inventory tab.Update the adapter firmware if not up to date. If the server hardware is not in Unmanaged state, update the adapter firmware using HPE OneView. Otherwise, update the firmware using Smart Update Manager (SUM) by booting into the Service Pack (firmware bundle) that is part of Synergy Software Releases.Remove the adapter and re-insert it."This issue can occur when the network adapter has invalid JSON data in the Redfish /redfish/v1/Chassis/1/NetworkAdapters/{adapter_id}/Ports collection. The invalid JSON data can occur on a server with one of the Broadcom network adapters listed in the scope running firmware version 230.1.123.0 - 231.1.162.1.
