When Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4 or Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.5 is installed with multipath and a standard partition on a hardware iSCSI boot from Storage Area Network (SAN) configuration, only a single path of the multipath connection may be initially detected. Both iSCSI ports will be logged into the target, but only one connection will report LUNs attached. This can be observed by running the commands "multipath -ll" or "iscsiadm -m sessions."If the iscsi targets are rescanned, the additional paths will be restored: "iscsiadm -m sessions --rescan"
Any HPE Synergy Gen10, HPE Synergy Gen10 Plus, or HPE Synergy Gen11 compute module with hardware iSCSI boot from SAN in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4 or Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.5 using the HPE Synergy 6820C 25/50Gb Converged Network Adapter or HPE Synergy 4820C 10/20/25Gb Converged network adapter.
To resolve this issue, rescan the iSCSI storage : "iscsiadm -m session --rescan."To avoid this issue, use Logical Volume Manager (LVM) instead of a standard partition.
