After updating to System ROM version 1.20 (or later), the server product name will change as follows:On System ROM versions prior to v1.20: HPE ProLiant DL380a Gen12On System ROM versions 1.20 (or later): HPE ProLiant Compute DL380a Gen12After updating the System ROM to v1.20 or later, all software and firmware (both HPE and third-party) will display the product name as the HPE ProLiant Compute DL380a Gen12. This includes the system boot screens, pre-boot System Utilities environment, iLO GUI, HPE software, and third-party tools such as dmidecode. This change includes modifying the Industry Standard SMBIOS Type 1 Product Name field as well as the Redfish product name property. Any scripts that utilize the Product Name using the SMBIOS Tables, Redfish, or IPMI may need to be modified to handle the updated product name.
Any HPE ProLiant Compute DL380a Gen12 server with iLO 6 and running a System ROM version earlier than v1.20 and that is updated to System ROM v1.20 or later.
With the exception of impacts to scripts that utilize the product name, the product name change will be cosmetic only and will not impact operation of the system. Any scripts that utilize the product name may need to be modified to reflect the product name change for proper operation of the script.
