On an HPE system with HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5) firmware v3.07 (or earlier), the following false caution messages may display in the iLO 5 Event log in a certain scenario as shown below:"The iLO health monitoring status of the device /adapter located in Slot #is not responsive.""The iLO health monitoring status of the device / adapter located in Embedded is not responsive."This has been observed on HPE systems with multiple HPE Smart Array controllers installed. The false caution messages can be ignored if the system is otherwise functioning as expected.
Any HPE system with iLO 5 firmware v3.07 (or earlier). This has been observed on HPE systems with multiple HPE Smart Array controllers installed.
As a workaround, if the system is functioning as expected, ignore the caution messages.ORPerform the following to disable the Management Component Transport Protocol (MCTP)and stop the false caution messages:From the iLO 5 management interface, go to the System Information UI in the navigation tree, and click the "Device Inventory" tab. Click the Discovery button.Disable the MCTP and click "Apply." Wait for two minutes.Click on Discovery and click on the "MCTP Factory Reset" button.Click on the Discovery button. MCTP should be re-enabled, and the device should be displayed again.Go to the Information Diagnostics tab and click on the "Reset" button to reset iLO.Reboot the OS.This advisory will be updated if additional solutions become available.
