For any HPE ProLiant RL300 Gen11, HPE Smart Update Manager (SUM) may fail to update the System ROM when using Advanced Integrated Pack 2024.11.00.00 and Integrated Smart Update Tools (iSUT) configured with AutoDeployReboot mode. This issue occurs because the server has to be powered off in order to update the System ROM. The SUM generates a request for iSUT to power off the server, and if the shutdown process takes longer than expected, HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) will attempt to perform the update without waiting for the server to be powered off.As a result, the System ROM will fail to be updated, and the following error message will be displayed:"System power must be off to perform this update/upload. Power system off and retry".
In the scenario described above, any HPE ProLiant RL300 Gen11.
If this issue has already occurred, power off the server and update the System ROM using iLO.
