For any HPE platforms running Windows Server 2019/2022 and configured with the Intel I350-T4 Ethernet adapters listed in the Scope section below, the maximum VFs will be set to 6 per port (instead of 8) when the physical port is configured as a connection port to an external virtual switch.This is an expected behavior of the Intel Ethernet adapter driver when using Windows Virtualization. This is intended for internal resource management.
In the scenario described above, any HPE platforms running Windows Server 2019/2022 and configured with either of the following:Intel I350-T4 Ethernet 1Gb 4-port BASE-T Adapter for HPE (P21106-B21)Intel I350-T4 Ethernet 1Gb 4-port BASE-T OCP3 Adapter for HPE (P08449-B21)
In order to configure a maximum VF interface (8 per port), use a port that is not connected to an external virtual switch.
