For any HPE Synergy 480 or 660 Gen10 compute modules, the iLO 5 IPv4 network settings may change to defaults after updating the System ROM to version 2.80 (or later), or downgrading the System ROM below version 2.80.This issue occurs because depending on the System ROM version, the part number value sourced may change for the 4820C 10/20/25Gb CNA, 6810C 25/50Gb Ethernet Adapter, and 6820C 25/50Gb CNA.This issue will occur when all of the following conditions are met:HPE Synergy 480 Gen10 compute module or HPE Synergy 660 Gen10 compute moduleThe compute module uses an IP address pool from the Logical Enclosure.System ROM is updated to version 2.80 (or later), or if already at version 2.80 (or later), downgraded to a version below 2.80.The compute module is powered off, and then iLO 5 is reset. When this issue occurs, the iLO 5 IPv4 network settings will change from the static IP address pool to a DHCP address. If there is no DHCP server available on the iLO network, the IPv4 address will be left blank.Additionally, the iLO event log will display messages similar to the following:Server Signature changed. (0x00000001)iLO Network Configuration modified by: Server Signature Change.iLO Reset due to Server Signature Change. Network and Virtual Profile Settings have been cleared.
In the scenario described above, any HPE Synergy 480 or 660 Gen10 compute modules configured with any of the following adapters:HPE Synergy 4820C 10/20/25Gb Converged Network AdapterHPE Synergy 6810C 25/50Gb Ethernet AdapterHPE Synergy 6820C 25/50Gb Converged Network Adapter
To avoid this issue from occurring after the System ROM is updated to version 2.80 (or later), or if already at version 2.80 (or later), downgraded to a version below 2.80, AND iLO 5 has not been reset yet while the compute module is powered off, perform either of the following:Compute modules without an HPE OneView Server ProfileOption #1Re-install the iLO 5 firmware. This will prevent the issue from occurring.Power cycle (power off and then power on) the compute module.Option #2Power off the compute module.Perform an E-fuse operation, or remove/re-insert the compute module in the Synergy frame. This will allow OneView to add the compute module.ORCompute modules with an HPE OneView Server ProfileOption #1Re-install the iLO 5 firmware. This will prevent the issue from occurring.Power cycle (power off and then power on) the compute module.Option #2Schedule a maintenance window.Power off the compute module.Perform an E-fuse operation, or remove/re-insert the compute module in the Synergy frame. This will allow OneView to add the compute module. If the issue has already occurred, perform the following steps:Power off the compute module.Perform an E-fuse operation, or remove/re-insert the compute module in the Synergy frame. This will allow OneView to add the compute module.Performing an E-fuse operation on the affected compute modules:i. SSH into the composer IP address and log in as Administrator. This will log into the main-view.ii. Type "console-view" to enter the console.iii. From the console-view command line type:show blade list (This command provides the list of installed compute modules along with the bays and serial numbers).iv. Identify the affected compute module and perform the following command:efuse deviceBay <enclosure-name> <bay-number>
