The RESTful Interface Tool (iLOrest) command flashfwpkg fails to create a UEFI task that completes on reboot of the server instead, it creates a BMC task that fails.Due to the discrepancy in the type of categorization of the component, component is being incorrectly identified and tagged as behind the controller and a BMC task is created instead of creating a UEFI task. This only occurs when the drive is connected directly and not connected behind the controller.
Any HPE system using the iLOrest command flashfwpkg for any direct attached drive firmware update (for example, Micron_7450_Micron_7450_M7450ALLHPS3.fwpkg).
As a workaround, perform the following commands when performing the flash component operation:Uploadcomp –component [component_name]Create uefi task using the following command:Taskqueue [component_name]Reboot the serverThis is targeted to be resolved in a future version of iLOrest. This advisory will be updated when additional information is available.
