On HPE ProLiant Gen11 and HPE Alletra Storage Servers with the "Enabled Individual CPU NVMe Root Ports" option on BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU) with Intel Virtual RAID on CPU (VROC) 8.6 enabled, incorrect drive location information may be displayed on the system information pages provided in the screenshots below.NOTE: Since iLO relies on the drive location to conduct LED management for the corresponding drive, LED management is also impacted. This issue can be observed on the following pages:The Intel Virtual RAID on CPU (VROC) page on BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU)On the iLO 6 Storage pageOn the iLO 6 Integrated Management Log page
HPE ProLiant Gen11 and HPE Alletra Storage Servers when selecting the "Enabled Individual CPU NVMe Root Ports" option on the BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU) with Intel Virtual RAID on CPU (VROC) 8.6 enabled.
This issue is resolved in Intel Virtual RAID on CPU (VROC) UEFI driver which is integrated in System ROM version 2.40 (or later). As a workaround, to prevent the incorrect drive location from being displayed, use the "Enabled All CPU NVMe Root Ports" option instead of the "Enabled Individual CPU NVMe Root Ports" option on the BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU).For further details regarding BIOS/Platform configuration (RBSU), see theUEFI System Utilities UEFI System Utilities User Guide for HPE ProLiant Gen11 Servers, and HPE Synergy.Revision HistoryDocument VersionRelease DateDetails2March 10, 2025The Resolution was updated with the ROM version that resolves this issue.1May 3, 2024Original Document Release.
