When installing or booting Linux on an HPE ARM-based server, no boot messages are displayed, or the display is blank in the iLO 6 Remote Console. The following messages may be displayed and the system may stop responding:
EFI stub: Booting Linux Kernel...
EFI stub: Using DTB from configuration table
EFI stub: Exiting boot services and installing virtual address map...
Scope
HPE ProLiant RL300 Gen11 Servers and HPE ProLiant Compute DL384 Gen12- or any HPE ARM-based server are affected. For some distro, such as RHEL or Ubuntu, after a while the installer or login prompt may show. For SLES, it is only black screen.
Resolution
To display the GUI installer, pass the following boot parameter to avoid the installation entering text mode:
console=tty0
