After rebooting HPE OneView, a false alert message may appear:
"
Refresh failed for the composable infrastructure appliance in bay X
."
The Resolution information shown with the alert message will display the following instructions:
"
Verify that the appliance is properly seated and the health indicator light is green, then refresh the enclosure. If the problem persists, E-Fuse the appliance bay or re-seat the appliance. If this is the active appliance, shut down the appliance before re-seating it. If none of these steps corrects the problem, contact your authorized support representative and provide a support dump
."
This alert will occur because of a concurrent timing window during startup when the Composer 2’s iLO setting is compared.
The false alert will only appear when the following conditions are all met:
After the initial enclosure refresh and after a HPE OneView startup
If the frame has 11 or more compute modules
If the frame has two Composers
If the frame contains four Virtual Connect/Fibre Channel interconnect modules
Scope
Any version of HPE OneView with HPE Synergy Composer 2.
Resolution
This is corrected by updating to
HPE OneView 8.60
or later.
To work around this issue, perform a refresh again for the enclosure to clear the alert. It can take more than one refresh to clear the alert.
