Info
When the Automatic Server Recovery (ASR) Timer from Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) expires and generates a system reset, the BIOS does not log the occurrence in the Integrated Management Log (IML). The expected entry should be:
"ASR Detected by System ROM" (Class Dh, Code 1)
Timers configured to generate a non-maskable interrupt (NMI) prior to the expiration are also not logged in the IML. The expected entry should be:
"ASR NMI Detected – The Automatic Server Recovery (ASR) NMI has been signaled (per system configuration policy)" (Class Ah, Code 500h)
If the Application Watchdog Timer expires, the same ASR timeout IML entry noted above would be expected, but is not logged.
If the Application Watchdog Timer has been configured to generate an NMI prior to timer expiration, this is not recorded in the IML. The expected entry would be:
Application Watchdog NMI Detected – The Application Watchdog NMI has been signaled (per the system configuration policy)” (Class Ah, Code 502h).
Scope
Any HPE ProLiant RL300 Gen11 server configured with the initial R11_1.10_11_21_2022 System ROM release.
Resolution
This condition does NOT cause any adverse effect on the server and the server will continue to function as expected.
This issue will be addressed in a future System ROM release. This document will be updated when more information becomes available.
