When running host applications from HPE ProLiant Gen12 HPE Service pack for ProLiant (SPP) version 2025.03.00.00 (or later) with HPE Integrated Lights-Out 7 (iLO 7) v1.13.01 (or earlier), application accounts cannot be used by host applications to communicate to iLO 7. Note : Host applications can continue to communicate with iLO 7 using iLO 7 user account credentials. The following error is displayed when running iLORest login command: (Error occurred while performing login using app account. Check if application account exists using 'appaccount details' command. Otherwise, try with --no_app_account option.) The following error is displayed when SUM performs local node inventory: The below versions of host applications are impacted with iLO 7 v1.13.01 (or earlier): Smart Update Manager (SUM) v12.0.0 Integrated Smart Update Tools (iSUT) v6.0.0 Agentless Management Service (AMS) v4.10.0 for Windows v4.0.0 for Linux v2025.03.01 (802.12.1.0) for VMWare ESXi iLORest v6.0
Any HPE iLO 7 based ProLiant or Synergy Gen12 servers using host applications for example HPE OneView, Smart Update Manager, iLORest, Integrated Smart Update Tools, or Agentless Management Service for firmware upgrades.
Upgrade iLO 7 to firmware v1.14.00 (or later) and host applications to May 2025 SPP version (or later). The below versions of host applications and iLO 7 are compatible to use application accounts: iLO 7 v1.14.00 or above Smart Update Manager (SUM) v12.1.0 (or later) Integrated Smart Update Tools (iSUT) v6.1.0 (or later) Agentless Management Service (AMS) v4.20.0 or above for Windows v4.1.0 or above for Linux v2025.05.01 (802.12.2.0) or above for VMWare ESXi iLORest v6.1.0 (or later) To upgrade to these versions, perform a two-step remediation using vLCM. Follow the steps below: vLCM Update 1: Update the OS Image and Vendor Add-on (ensure the above versions are included). Configure the host application account. vLCM Update 2: Update the OS Image, Vendor Add-on, and firmware packages. To download iLO 7 v1.14.00, perform the following steps: Click the following link: http://www.hpe.com/support/ilo7 The page should refresh to display the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" tab and the components that support the selected product. From the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" expandable filter menus on the left side of the page: For further filtering if needed - Select the specific Operating System from the Operating Environment. Locate and select the HPE Integrated Lights-Out 7 v1.14.00 firmware . click the Revision History tab to locate the latest version. For more important information, review the Release Notes tab.
