A downgrade of Server Platform Services (SPS) firmware from version 4.1.4.804.0 to 04.01.04.505 fails when downgrading using the Synergy Service Pack (SSP) SY-2022.08.01 (22.15) through SY-2022.02.01 (22.10).If the process fails, the following HPE OneView message will be displayed:Figure 1: "The firmware update operation was unable to update the following components on server Enclosure" message.
Any HPE Gen10 or HPE Gen10 Plus system with HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5) firmware version 2.72 (or earlier).
This issue is resolved in iLO version iLO5 2.78 (or later).NOTE: More recent versions of iLO will have additional fixes related to firmware updates, i.e., iLO5 3.06 (or later).As a workaround, downgrade the SPS firmware using the HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5) web interface or Redfish interface.
