An HPE ProLiant Gen9-series server with iLOrest version 3.3 or version 3.5 is unable to set or change the admin password when using either of the commands below:When typing the following command:iLOrest > setpassword --currentpassword None --newpassword Password1The following is displayed, erroneously stating the operation completed successfully:Added the following patch:{"AdminPassword": "Password1"}Added the following patch:{"OldAdminPassword": "None"}Committing changes...The operation completed successfully.The session will now be terminated. login again with updated credentialsin order to continue. Logging session out.However, when rebooting the server and pressing F10, a password to enter BIOS is not required.This does not affect existing passwords.
Any HPE ProLiant Gen9-series servers with iLOrest version 3.3 or version 3.5 attempting to set or change the admin password.
