In rare instances, an anomaly can occur with the OneView System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) Integration Kit not closing the RabbitMQ network connections to the OneView appliance, until the SCMB Alert Generating Service on the appliance cannot accept any new connections. As a result, no alerts are transmitted to the monitoring services; e.g., the HPE OneView Global Dashboard (OVGD).When this occurs, the SCMB state will appear as offline on the User Interface (UI) of the OVGD appliance, as shown below:To test if this issue is impacting the server environment, the following command can be run on the servers within the SCOM resource pool using a PowerShell console running with local Administrative privileges:Get-NetTCPCOnnection | Where-Object {$_.RemotePort -eq 5671 } | Group-Object RemoteAddress | Sort Count -Descending| Format-Table Name, CountThe following output suggests the issue is occurring. In this example, the OneView appliance with IP address 192.1.16.37 has more than the expected number of connections from this SCOM server:Name Count---- -----192.1.16.37 26192.1.12.21 2192.1.24.14 1
Any HPE OneView for Microsoft System Center 10.0 (or earlier) with the System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) kit.
The issue is resolved in HPE OneView for Microsoft System Center (OV4SC) 10.20. OV4SC 10.20 can be accessed through HPE Software Center and the downloaded fromHPE OneView Partner Integrations.Note: The HPE OneView SCVMM Integration Kit and the HPE Storage SCOM Integrations Kit have been removed from HPE OneView for Microsoft System Center. The SCVMM Kit can still be downloaded from HPE OneView for Microsoft System Center version 10.10. The HPE Storage SCOM Integration Kit can be downloaded fromHPE Storage Management Pack for System Center Operations Manager (SCOM).A workaround is to restart the HPE OneView Event Manager Service running on the SCOM server. Within an Administrative PowerShell, run the following command to restart the service:Get-service HP*OneViewEventManager | Restart-ServiceThis closes down all the RabbitMQ connections from this server, allowing the OneView appliance to the service connection, and other monitoring services, such as, OneView Global Dashboard (OVGD).RECEIVE PROACTIVE UPDATES: Receive support alerts (such as Customer Advisories), as well as updates on drivers, software, firmware, and customer replaceable components, proactively in your e-mail through HPE Support Alerts.Sign up for Support Alerts at the following URL:HPE Email Preference CenterNAVIGATION TIP:For hints on navigating HPE.com to locate the latest drivers, patches and other support software downloads, refer to theNavigation Tips document.SEARCH TIP:For hints on locating similar documents on HPE.com, refer to theSearch Tips document.
