MCTP discovery is enabled by default. Hewlett Packard Enterprise does not recommend disabling Management Component Transport Protocol (MCTP) discovery unless this action is recommended by HPE support personnel. Refer to the iLO User Guide for additional information about MCTP discovery. iLO 5 has the option to disable MCTP discovery for the system or MCTP discovery can be disabled for individual slots. Disabling the MCTP discovery for the entire system may not function with iLO 5 firmware v2.14 through v2.65. Disabling the MCTP discovery for individual slots may not function with iLO 5 firmware earlier than v2.65.
Any HPE system with iLO 5 firmware v2.14 through v2.65.
This issue is resolved in iLO 5 version 2.72 (or later). To download iLO 5 firmware v2.72 (or later), perform the following steps: Click HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5) for HPE Gen10 Servers on the HPE Support Center website. Enter a product name (e.g., "iLO 5") in the text search field and wait for a list of Suggested Products to display. From the Suggested Products list displayed, identify the desired product and select it. The page should refresh to display the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" tab and the components that support the selected product. From the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" expandable filter menus on the left side of the page: For further filtering if needed - Select the specific Operating System from the Operating Environment. Locate and select the HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 firmware v2.72 (or later). click the Revision History tab to locate the latest version. For more important information, review the Release Notes tab. Click the Download button.
