For any Synergy compute modules configured with 4820C/6820C CNAs, in rare instances, HPE OneView may display the alert shown below.
"Unable to apply a profile to the server hardware.
Resolution
Ensure network connectivity to the server is available. Try applying the profile again."
This issue may occur when the following steps have been performed sequentially:
Powered off all compute modules.
Unassigned all Server Profiles from the compute modules.
Removed Logical Enclosures.
Re-added the Logical Enclosures.
Reassigned all Server Profiles to the compute modules.
This issue may also occur when repeatedly removing and re-adding connections within a Server Profile.
Additionally, the following alert may be displayed during the Operating System boot up:
"An error has occurred on connection <
connection number
>. Interconnect <
interconnect name
> interconnect <
interconnect bay
> port <
port number
> subport <
subport number
> is not an active member of the link aggregation group <
group name
>."
Scope
In the scenario described above, any Synergy compute modules with either of the following CNAs running any firmware versions prior to 8.55.31:
HPE Synergy 4820C 10/20/25Gb Converged Network Adapter
HPE Synergy 6820C 25/50Gb Converged Network Adapter
Resolution
To avoid this issue, install CNA firmware version 8.55.31 (or later). Firmware version 8.55.31 has been included in HPE Synergy Service Pack (SSP) 2022.02.01. These versions can be found in the
HPE Synergy Software Releases
page.
If this issue has already occurred, reapply the Server Profile on the affected compute modules.
Note:
Reapplying the Server Profile may have to be performed several times to solve the issue.
