On an HPE ProLiant Gen10 or Synergy Gen10 compute module configured with Intel Xeon SP Processors and running System ROM version 1.50 (or later), it is possible to set the Advanced Memory Protection (AMP) to options other than Fast Fault Tolerant Memory (ADDDC), when the system is configured for most Workload Profiles, including the default Workload Profile, for DIMM configurations that support this mode. However, if any of the other options are selected, ADDDC will remain as the active mode. The workload profile dependencies cannot be edited and should be grayed out.The Fast Fault Tolerance (ADDDC) will be enabled after the system is rebooted, even if the AMP option configured in BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU)/OneView is not Fast Fault Tolerance (ADDDC).For example:If the AMP option is set to "Advanced ECC Support" from the dropdown menu and the system is rebooted, it can be observed during Power-On Self-Test (POST) that the Advanced Memory Protection Mode is set to the Fast Fault Tolerant Memory (ADDDC) as expected.Refer to page 6 of theUEFI Workload-based Performance and Tuning Guide for HPE ProLiant Gen10, ProLiant Gen10 Plus Servers, and HPE Synergyfor further details regarding the Workload Profiles and their dependencies. The Workload Profiles are listed in the order that they are listed on the user interface. Also seeHPE Gen10 Memory RAS Technologies Whitepaperfor further details on memory features.
Any HPE ProLiant Gen10 server and Synergy Gen10 compute module configured with Intel Xeon SP Processors and running System ROM version 1.50 (or later).
Do not change the AMP selection from the default option when the system is configured for most Workload Profiles, including the default Workload Profile, for DIMM configurations that support this mode, since only Fast Fault Tolerant Memory Mode (ADDDC) will be enabled.Refer to the following notice for details on Improved Memory Resilience:HPE Gen10 Server Platforms - ProLiant, Synergy and Apollo Gen10 Systems Supporting Intel Xeon Scalable Performance Processors Now Support Improved Memory Resiliency With System ROM Version 1.50 (or Later)This condition does NOT cause any adverse effect on the server and the server will continue to function as expected.RECEIVE PROACTIVE UPDATES: Receive support alerts (such as Customer Advisories), as well as updates on drivers, software, firmware, and customer replaceable components, proactively in your e-mail through HPE Support Alerts.
