On any HPE Synergy Composer2, during the update or reimage process to HPE OneView version 5.40 (or later), any Composer2 DIMMs may report uncorrectable machine check exceptions and uncorrectable memory errors.This issue may occur if the Composer2 is running BIOS version 1.00. The Composer2 BIOS version can be viewed in the console display as shown below:Once this issue has been experienced, these errors will occur every time the Composer2 is rebooted and the console will display a message similar to the following:When this issue occurs, the Composer2 will fail to boot. Any Composer2 DIMMs may experience these errors; however, DIMM 1 has the lowest probability to experience this issue.Performing the HPE OneView update to versions 5.20.01, 5.30, 5.40, and 5.50 should also update the Composer2 BIOS to version 1.10; however, in certain instances the BIOS update fails. To boot properly, HPE OneView 5.40 (or later) requires Composer2 BIOS version 1.10.
In the scenario described above, any HPE Synergy Composer2 with BIOS version 1.00 and HPE OneView 5.40 (or later).
Prior to initiating an update or reimage process, perform the following steps to determine the Composer2 BIOS version:1.
