On any HPE ProLiant server or HPE Synergy Compute Module configured with any of the HPE QLogic FastLinQ based network adapters with firmware Boot Code (MFW) v8.45.17.0 listed in the Scope section below, the network adapters may not initialize when excessive traffic is received during the Power-On Self-Test (POST). This issue typically occurs when the network adapter ports are receiving excessive broadcast packets; but excessive unicast and multicast packets can also cause this issue. When this issue occurs, the following conditions may be experienced: The network adapter appears to have virtually disappeared from the server. The network adapter is not viewable from RBSU (use F9 option during POST). Unable to PXE boot, and the PXE boot option is not available from RBSU. The network adapter is not viewable when the Operating System is up and running. The network adapter is viewable from iLO, but the firmware is listed as N/A.
