When HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5(iLO 5) is experiencing heavy loading; e.g., iLO is running out of resources such as CPU and memory, the HPE Agentless Management Service(AMSD) version 2.1.0 (or earlier) may lose communication with iLO 5. When this occurs, the following message will be displayed in the syslog many times a second:smad_rev[xxx]: Failed: Writing HPILO SMA_HELLO errno =9orsmad_rev[xxx]: Failed: Writing HPILO SMA_HELLO errno =16
Any HPE ProLiant Gen10 (or later) server running with AMSD version 2.1.0 (or earlier) and RHEL 7.
In order to enhance the stability of communication with iLO, download the AMSD version 2.1.1 (or later) and then follow the steps below to install the software. To obtain the latest version, click on the "revision history" tab at the below link:AMDS 2.1.11. Find the current amsd version by command "rpm -qa | grep amsd."2. Remove the old amsd by command "rpm -e amsd-2.1.0-XXXX-OsDist.x84_64"3. Install the new amsd by command "rpm -i amsd-2.1.1-XXXX-OsDist.x84_64.rpm"RECEIVE PROACTIVE UPDATES: Receive support alerts (such as Customer Advisories), as well as updates on drivers, software, firmware, and customer replaceable components, proactively in your e-mail through HPE Subscriber's Choice.
