On any HPE ProLiant server running a Linux, Microsoft Windows Server or VMware Operating System, the firmware update on any of the HPE Intel based, HPE Marvell based or HPE Broadcom based network adapters listed in the Scope section below, may not complete if the recommended driver is not installed and loaded before performing the firmware update.This occurs when the firmware update is performed using any of the following firmware smart components or using the Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) version 2019.12.0 (or later) in online mode:Intel Online Firmware Upgrade Utility for Linux x86_64 version 1.19.10 (or later).Intel Online Firmware Upgrade Utility for VMware version 3.12.10 (or later).Marvell FastLinQ Online Firmware Upgrade Utility for Linux x86_64 version 1.8.13 (or later).Marvell FastLinQ Online Firmware Upgrade Utility for VMware version 4.11.14 (or later).Intel Online Firmware Upgrade Utility for Windows Server x64 Editions version 5.2.0.0 (or later).Marvell FastLinQ Online Firmware Upgrade Utility for Windows Server x64 Editions version 5.2.0.0 (or later).Broadcom NetXtreme-E Online Firmware Upgrade Utility for Windows Server x64 Editions version 5.2.3.0 (or later).Important note:This does not occur using the Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) version 2019.12.0 (or later) in offline mode.

Therefore, run the Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) a second time to correctly install the firmware due to a required dependency of the drivers that were previously installed and loaded.For systems running a Microsoft Server Operating SystemRun the Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) version 2019.12.0 (or later) twice.
