Document Version Release Date Details 2 12/17/2019 Updated download link in Resolution section 1 07/29/2019 Original document release HPE ProLiant XL170r Gen10 and HPE ProLiant XL190r Gen10 servers built between Nov 1, 2018 and Feb 28, 2019 may encounter CPU throttling and/or iLO 5 communication issues at initial delivery, or after upgrading the Apollo Chassis Controller firmware to version 1.3.19 or later. The issue is caused by incorrect FRU values programmed in the Bayonet Board on some specific servers. The incorrect FRU values can cause any or all of the following: POST and IML Issues: Server POST Errors: 338 - HPE RESTful API Error - Unable to communicate with iLO FW. 270 - iLO FW Communication Issue - Unable to communicate with iLO FW. Delay for several minutes during POST iLO Communication Issues: iLO Configuration Utility not displayed in System Utility menu. iLO web GUI slow to permit login, and may display:"iLO Connection cannot be established. If you recently made changes to the network configurations, you may need to refresh this page to re-negotiate an SSL connection." Empty "Chassis Information "and "Power/Thermal" information in iLO 5 web GUI. Randomly missing thermal sensors, when viewed from the iLO GUI or via the IPMI interface. Power Behaviors: When using Apollo Chassis Controller firmware version 1.2.19 with the impacted Bayonet Boards, then the iLO may report incorrect server power consumption of 700W during idle (iLO GUI, "Power & Thermal" page, "Power Meter" tab). When using Apollo Chassis Controller firmware versions 1.3.19 or 1.4.11, then the iLO may even report no power metrics for the server. If multiple servers within a single Apollo 2000 enclosure have an affected Bayonet Board, then all servers in the enclosure may experience unexpected power throttling during benchmarks, due to the aggregate "incorrect" power consumption exceeding the actual available PSU capacity.
Any HPE ProLiant XL170r Gen10 or HPE ProLiant XL190r Gen10 server configured in an Apollo 2000 chassis.
