On HPE ProLiant Gen10 servers running Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) 5 and configured with an HPE Smart Array P824i-p MR Gen10 Controller, the firmware version information for the controller is missing from iLO after an abnormal shutdown.
Under System Information, the Device Inventory and Storage page displays the firmware version as N/A in iLO. Under Firmware and Operating System Software, the firmware is shown as N/A for the firmware version.
The following Power-On Self-Test (POST) error can also be seen:
Slot X: HPE Smart Array 824i-P MR Gen10 - Driver reconnect required.
Note:
HPE Smart Array P824i-p MR Gen10 controller functionality is not affected by this issue.
Scope
Any HPE ProLiant Gen10 server running iLO 5 and configured with an HPE Smart Array P824i-p MR Gen10 Controller.
Resolution
To resolve the issue, gracefully shutdown or normally reboot the server.
As a workaround, the firmware version can be viewed in the Operating System using MR Storage Administrator or the StorCLI utility.
