The alerts are not showing up in PowerFlex Manager as intended when the iDRAC is sending SNMP traps to PowerFlex Manager (hardware failures). This causes the iDRAC to not generate Dialhome alerts as intended.
Still Under Investigation
In PowerFlex Manager, go to Settings > Events and Alerts > Notification Policies > Sources Steps: Document the settings that are listed for the SNMP Write down the following fields for safe keeping: Source Name Description Source Type Community String Figure 1: Hovering over the SNMP Source provides the type and community string. Fig 2: Clicking the SNMP Source provides the description, source name, and source type. Log in to the iDRAC of a node and validate the SNMP Trap settings. Configuration > System Settings > Alert Configuration > SNMP Traps Configuration > SNMP Settings Confirm that the community string, port number, and SNMP Trap Format matches the Type in PowerFlex Manager In PowerFlex Manager, edit the SNMP source and delete the SNMP. Readd the SNMP using the same details from before. Generate a test alert from the iDRAC. Configuration > System Settings > Alert Configuration > Test Event Use the code CPU0002. This does NOT generate an SR, however this sends the alert to CLM to validate connectivity. After sending the test alert, it should show up in the PFxM events page and look like this: Note: The test alert takes around an hour to fully generate in Dell's backend system.
