Switch Health Report: ===================== Current Switch Policy Status: CRITICAL Contributing Factors: --------------------- *WWN_DOWN (CRITICAL). Switch is running on Fabric OS: v8.2.3c. It has WWN Data Protection license activated. WWN card-1 is in FLTY state. Switch is running on WWN-2 and if that were to be lost, the WWNDP license would take over. slotshow -d576: FRU# FRU Type ID Status ----------------------------------- [truncated] 1 WWN CARD FLTY p=0000102 r=20021 h=00* 2 WWN CARD ON p=0000002 r=20000 h=00 /fabos/cliexec/chassisshow: [truncated] Chassis Factory Serial Num: XXX * = No system control access to FRU WWN data manager state: CF_AUTH About the potential issues (i.e, power failure), the WWNDP license is only activated once WWN 2 should ever fail, so in the unlikely event that WWN2 dies as part of a power failure, WWNDP code would take over as part of the subsequent reboot, because WWNDP code has created an area on the CPs that contains the WWN data that is maintained using HA across CP changes, so forth. Upgrades are fine the only potential issue would be if we try to downgrade to a version of code prior to 8.2.3c without the license feature. If there is firmwarecleaninstall, the necessary files and configurations are resynced from the other CP.
Hardware fault on WWN card.
Fixed version: Upgrade to 8.2.3d v8.2.3d no longer shows the HW alerts and or CRITICAL policy status when a physical WWN card is absent and the WWN DP code is active. Also, this fixed version v8.2.3d addresses the WWN card faulty status in slotshow output. v8.2.3d is due to be released in April-mid.
