Video Card failures due to DisplayPort cable wiring There are graphics card failures due to 3.3-volt DC power returning to the graphics adapter through pin 20 of the DisplayPort cable.
This is due to DC power returning to the graphics adapter through pin 20.
Dell engineering and development teams eliminated this issue in Dell DisplayPort cables by removing the 20th wire in the cable. The 20th pin connection remains in the DisplayPort cable connector. This pin is not internally connected inside the cable eliminating this power return issue in Dell DisplayPort cables.
