The vcenter environment has Phone home support feature enabled (Phone home is also known as Customer Experience Improvement Program (CEIP)) However Avamar Backup software (19.4 and under) did NOT have the VDDK Phone home lines configured per VDDK Release notes and the VDDK programming guide.
Long term solution:This problem will be address in next major version of Avamar release. Workaround:Edit the /usr/local/avamarclient/var/vddkconfig.ini file on Avamar proxy.(Add three lines at the bottom of file): vixDiskLib.phoneHome.ProductName = "Avamar" vixDiskLib.phoneHome.ProductVersion = "19.4.100-116" vixDiskLib.phoneHome.DatabaseDir = $tmpDirectory NOTE: Adjust the ProductVersion to the proxy build number.
