The embedded Matrox G200 video controller in the HP Integrated Lights-Out 3 (iLO 3) or Integrated Lights-Out 4 (iLO 4) cannot properly display certain resolutions. When one of the affected resolutions is selected, initially the output may look properly aligned. However, over time, the output will shift and no longer look correct. For example, the following image from a Linux 6.3 console illustrates output that has shifted:The following resolutions are affected:1024 x 768 x 8 bpp (256 colors)720 x 540 x 4 bpp (16 colors)752 x 564 x 4 bpp (16 colors)784 x 588 x 4 bpp (16 colors)376 x 564 x 8 bpp (256 colors)This issue can affect any ProLiant G7 and ProLiant Gen8 servers; it includes but is not limited to the servers listed in the Platforms Affected section below.
Any ProLiant G7 server with a Matrox G200 video controller embedded in iLO 3 and all ProLiant Gen8 servers with a Matrox G200 video controller embedded in iLO 4.
