HPE OneView versions 11.40 and 11.50 running on an HPE Synergy Composer2 Plus appliance may report a critical GEC_182 error following a frame cold power- cycle. When this issue occurs, the GEC_182 error is displayed in HPE OneView and the HPE OneView appliance cluster may fail to form, preventing normal cluster operation. This behavior is caused by a timing issue during HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) initialization following a frame cold power-cycle. The issue has not been observed when only the Composer2 Plus appliance is independently reseated or power-cycled.There is no data loss or configuration loss associated with this issue.
HPE OneView versions 11.40 and 11.50 running on HPE Synergy Composer2 Plus appliances with HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) 7 version 1.23 or 1.25 in HPE Synergy frames that undergo a frame cold power-cycle.
To recover from this condition, reseat or power-cycle the affected HPE Synergy Composer2 Plus appliance. Performing this action allows the HPE OneView appliance cluster to reform and resume normal operation. No data loss or configuration loss occurs as a result of this issue.HPE is investigating a permanent fix for this issue. This advisory will be updated when additional information becomes available.
