On HPE OneView 11.00 through 11.40, audit log forwarding configured to use TCP with TLS may fail to deliver audit log events to the configured remote syslog server. Although the TLS connection to the syslog server is established successfully during configuration, audit log events may not be forwarded and can be silently dropped by the HPE OneView appliance.Audit log forwarding configured to use UDP is not affected and continues to function as expected. This issue was introduced in HPE OneView 11.00 and may affect environments that rely on forwarding audit log events to remote syslog servers for monitoring and auditing purposes.
This issue affects HPE OneView versions 11.00 through 11.40 when audit log forwarding is configured to use TCP with TLS.
HPE is developing a resolution for this issue in a future HPE OneView release. As a workaround, select the UDP option when adding an audit log forwarding destination, as shown below. UDP forwarding is not affected by this issue.
