When a Server Profile is created with a valid SPP and the installation method is set to "Firmware and OS Drivers using Smart Update Tools" or "Firmware only using Smart Update Tools", with iSUT configured in "AutoStage" mode on the host OS, the applicable firmware components are staged on the server and remain in a pending state awaiting installation and activation.At this stage, the user is expected to issue the sut --deploy command or change the SUT mode to "AutoDeployReboot" to proceed with the firmware update. However, if the Server Profile is deleted while the components are still in the staged/pending state, the first applicable component in the firmware update Install Set may be unintentionally installed on the server.
This issue can occur only when all of the following conditions are met:1. SUT Configuration: iSUT on the host OS is configured in "AutoStage" mode, and the Server Profile installation method is set to "Firmware and OS Drivers using Smart Update Tools" or "Firmware only using Smart Update Tools."2. Firmware Staged: All applicable firmware components have been staged on the iLO and are in "Pending" state in the task queue.3. Server Profile Deletion: The Server Profile is deleted while the firmware components remain in the staged/pending state.
If firmware components are in the staged/pending state, do not delete the Server Profile. Instead, issue sut --deploy or change the SUT mode to "AutoDeployReboot" on the host OS to allow the firmware update process to complete.
