An inconsistency in the CPU core SVM lock state can generate a Purple Screen of Death (PSOD) during the VMware ESXi 9.1/9.0 installation process on an HPE ProLiant Compute DL345 Gen12 or HPE ProLiant Compute DL325 Gen12 system. When this occurs, a "hardware feature incompatibility detected" message may appear on the screen.This issue most commonly occurs when installing VMware ESXi 9.0/9.1 when the Minimum Processor Idle Power Core C-State is set to C1. Under normal conditions, the default setting is C6. This issue will not occur if the C-State is set to C6.This issue only occurs on systems with high-core-count CPUs.For example:Low-core-count CPU + C1 = Normal bootLow-core-count CPU + C6 = Normal bootHigh-core-count CPU + C6 = Normal bootHigh-core-count CPU + C1 = PSOD on ESXi 9.0 and 9.1
Any HPE ProLiant Compute DL345 or HPE ProLiant Compute DL325 Gen12 systems with AMD Turin processors and:Firmware versions beginning with A66 ROM v1.20VMware ESX 9.0/9.1
