As an early adopter of secure standards such as Device Identity and Platform Certificates, some HPE products may have TPM IAK keys deployed handles that do not conform to current TCG standards. All HPE platforms built after February 2025 will have the IAK in the slot defined by the current specifications (0x81020001) - but products shipped earlier before standardization will have the IAK stored in the slot 0x81010002.Customers building applications using the IAK keys on Gen12 platforms built before February 2025 should attempt the current standard handle (0x81020001) but fall back to the previous handle (0x81010002) if access fails.
All HPE ProLiant 300-Series Gen12 products shipped before February 2025.
If the system is affected by this change, attempt both handles. Units shipped after the transition date will comply to current standards.
