The management port 0 (mgmt0) of HPE M-series ONYX switch models SN2010M and SN2100M sometimes links with a speed of 100Mbps instead of 1000Mbps (1Gbps). This lower speed can cause slow accessibility-related issues when using the mgmt0 port during SSH and WEBUI sessions.
The following HPE M-Series ONYX switches are affected by this advisory:HPE SN2100M 100GbE 16QSFP28 Half Width Switch [Q2F23A]HPE SN2100M 100GbE 8QSFP28 Half Width Switch [Q2F24A]HPE SN2100M 100GbE 16QSFP28 Power to Connector Airflow Half TAA-compliant [R0P75A]HPE SN2100M 100GbE 16QSFP28 Connector to Power Airflow Half TAA-compliant [R0P76A]HPE SN2010M 25GbE 18SFP28 4QSFP28 Switch [Q9E63A]HPE SN2010M 25GbE 18SFP28 4QSFP28 Power to Connector Airflow TAA-compliant [R0P77A]HPE SN2010M 25GbE 18SFP28 4QSFP28 Connector to Power Airflow TAA-compliant [R0P78A]
To resolve this issue, HPE recommends setting the interface mgmt0 speed to 1000Mbps to avoid the mgmt0 sometimes linking with a speed of 100Mbps and sometimes 1000Mbps.NOTE: Before applying the following CLI commands, verify that the mgmt0 port is set to the default speed configuration (auto) and duplex (auto). If not, configure "auto" forbothspeed and duplex, then save the settings to the running configuration file. If they were not already configured as the default "auto", a switch reload is necessary to apply these changes.(config) # interface mgmt0 duplex auto(config) # interface mgmt0 speed auto(config) # write mem(config) # reload(config) # show interfaces mgmt0The following command should be executed and then the configuration written, using CLI command write memory:(config) # interface mgmt0 speed ?Execute this command on each switch to set the mgmt0 speed 1000Mbps.The CLI mgmt0 speed of 1000Mbps configuration command causes ONYX to add two configuration commands to the running configuration file: speed 1000 and duplex:(config) # interface mgmt0 speed 1000(config) # write memRun CLI commandshow interface mgmt0to check the speed 1000Mbps (auto), duplex (auto), and link up status yes.(config) # show interfaces mgmt0Verify the running config file shows the mgmt0 configuration commands:#### Network interface configuration##interface mgmt0 duplex fullinterface mgmt0 speed 1000IMPORTANT: Use of the WEBUI to change mgmt0 speed will fail if DHCP is configured. The WEBUI requires the static IP address to be provided when attempting to change the mgmt0 speed from auto to 1000Mbps.Go to the HPETechnical support phone numbersto create a Salesforce Developer Community (SFDC) case.
