For any HPE Synergy Frame Link Modules, when connecting to a compute module console using the Integrated Remote Console (IRC) action in the HPE Synergy Console, a blank screen will be displayed when the Operating System (OS) display resolution is configured with a width greater than 1600 pixels (for example, 1920x1200). This is a display issue only and does not impact functionality of the compute module. This issue occurs due to a limitation in the supported display resolution capabilities of the IRC client, specifically in the HPE Synergy Console. This limitation does not apply to the IRC when accessed via the HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) web browser interface, standalone IRC client, or HPE OneView.
In the scenario described above, any HPE Synergy Frame Link Module or HPE Synergy 4-Port Frame Link Module running any firmware versions prior to 5.02.00.Note:Windows Server 2025 defaults to a higher resolution than is currently supported by the IRC terminal in the HPE Synergy Console. As a result, it is affected by this issue.
To avoid this issue, update the FLM firmware to version 5.02.00 (or later). Firmware version 5.02.00 has been included in the HPE Synergy Service Pack (SSP) 2025.05.01 (or later). These versions can be found at theHPE Synergy Software Releasespage. As a workaround, configure the display resolution to a resolution value with a width of 1600 pixels or less. One recommended way of performing this workaround is using the following steps:From HPE OneView, select the compute module from the Server Hardware list.Open the console via the Actions menu.Log into the compute module host OS and configure the display resolution to a resolution value with a width of 1600 pixels or less. The server console should now be successfully displayed from the IRC action in the HPE Synergy Console.Revision HistoryDocument VersionRelease DateDetails2June 02, 2025The Resolution section has been updated with the firmware version containing the solution.1November 22, 2024Original Document Release.
