Perform either of the following procedures (Online Mode or Offline Mode) by using the "Custom Pack for Gen10 Plus/Gen11/Gen12 ProLiant for Intel VROC Platforms" to update the firmware for the drives attached to the Intel VROC:Online Mode: It can be performed via "local host update" or "remote update":Local host update: It can be run directly from a server running a Linux operation system with an interactive mode following the onscreen steps to update the firmware components. To initiate deployment in the interactive mode, execute the launch_sum.sh (Linux) script which is found in the root of the .iso image.ORRemote Update:It can be performed by running a Microsoft Windows Server or Linux operating system remotely with an interactive mode following the onscreen steps to update the firmware components; but the updates to the target server must be run with a Linux operation system. To initiate deployment in the interactive mode, execute the launch_sum.bat (Windows) or launch_sum.sh (Linux) script which is found in the root of the .iso image through client.Offline Mode:Boot .iso image and perform either of the following modes:Note:The offline mode is not current supported on HPE Gen12 servers with HPE Integrated Lights-Out 7 (iLO 7).Interactive mode:Follow the onscreen steps to update the firmware components.ORAutomatic mode:The firmware update will be run by default without any user interaction after sitting for 10 seconds at the menu screen, when the .iso image is used to boot the server.Important:To download the Custom Pack for Gen10 Plus/Gen11/Gen12 ProLiant for Intel VROC Platforms version 2024.11.00 (or later), refer to the following URL:Custom Pack for Gen10 Plus/Gen11/Gen12 ProLiant for Intel VROC Platforms Version 2024.11.00 (Or Later)Note:This Custom Pack is only supported on HPE Gen10 Plus / Gen11 / Gen12 servers with Intel VROC enabled (Refer to the platforms list under the Scope section).Revision HistoryDocument VersionRelease DateDetails6May 19, 2025Steps in the Resolution has been added with more information.Additional platforms were added to the Scope section:HPE ProLiant Compute DL320 Gen12HPE ProLiant Compute DL360 Gen12HPE ProLiant Compute DL380 Gen12HPE ProLiant Compute ML350 Gen12HPE ProLiant Compute DL340 Gen125December 9, 2024Resolution section has been updated with Custom Pack for Gen10 Plus/Gen11/Gen12 ProLiant for Intel VROC Platforms Version 2024.11.00.HPE ProLiant Compute DL380a Gen12 has been added to the Scope section.Support for Intel VROC 8.5 driver, tool and drive firmware has been removed from "Custom Pack for Gen10 Plus/Gen11/Gen12 ProLiant for Intel VROC Platforms version 2024.11.00".4May 23, 2024Resolution section has been updated with additional information.Additional platforms were added to the document.3April 26, 2023Url in the Resolution section has been updated.HPE ProLiant Gen11 platforms are also affected by this issue.2December 9, 2021An additional fix has been added to the Resolution section.1May 18, 2021Original Document Release.
