On HPE Gen9 platforms and HPE Gen10/Gen10 Plus platforms, when the Smart Array Controller is configured in the non-default Balanced power mode, the Smart Storage Administrator (SSA) and Array Diagnostic Utility (ADU) may report informational messages similar to the following: SSA: "846 A reboot will enhance performance for HPE Smart Array P408i-p SR Gen10 in slot x" OR "845 A reboot will enable additional power saving for HPE Smart Array P408i-P Gen10 in slot x" Where "x" is the PCIe slot number. ADU report (Device Summary): "A reboot will enable additional power savings" OR "A reboot will enhance the controller's performance" This issue occurs when the Smart Array controller is configured with "Balanced" Power Mode. The following are examples of configuration changes and a subsequent system reboot, which may cause this issue: Adding additional drive(s) to the existing configuration. Removing drive(s) from the existing configuration. Configuring unassigned drive(s) as Logical Drives. Note: The default Power Mode setting is Maximum performance.
