On any HPE ConvergedSystem 700 (CS700) with an HPE ProLiant BL460c Gen8 Server Blade running VMware ESXi 6.0 Update 2, and configured with an HPE FlexFabric 10Gb 2-port 554FLB Adapter, the Fibre Channel (FC) and Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) lpfc driver may occasionally display a purple diagnostic screen. The diagnostic output includes #PF Exception 14 in world, addr 0x0, and lpfc_scsi_cmd_iocb_cmpl. This could happen when the driver receives an SCSI Check Condition response and perceives the SCSI Sense Data is either zero length, or is invalid in the FCP_RSP field. Any HPE ConvergedSystem 700 (CS700) with an HPE ProLiantBL460c Gen8 Server Blade running VMware ESXi 6.0 Update 2, and configured with an HPE FlexFabric 10Gb 2-port 554FLB Adapter using the firmware versions defined in the Firmware and Software Compatibility Matrix - March 2017.
Upgrade the lpfc driver to version 11.1.183.633. Note that upgrading to driver version 11.1.183.633 does not include a specific matching firmware update.
