A SyncIQ policy by default includes all files and folders under the specified root directory. Optionally, directories under the root directory can be explicitly included or excluded. Note: As a best practice, avoid overlapping source directory SyncIQ policies with differing retention times to prevent nested snapshots.
SyncIQ policies rooted on the same source path and running simultaneously could cause read contention while running.
1. Create a snapshot schedule for the root path. For example : # isi snapshot schedules create --name=sync_path1 --path=/ifs/source/path1 --pattern="sync_path1-%FT%T" --schedule="Every day every hour between 8:00 AM and 6:00PM" 2. Schedule the SyncIQ policies using "When Snapshot Taken" For example: isi sync policies modify path1_to_t1 --schedule=when-snapshot-taken --snapshot-sync-pattern="sync_path1" isi sync policies modify path1_to_t2 --schedule=when-snapshot-taken --snapshot-sync-pattern="sync_path1" Result: Name: path1_to_t1 Path: /ifs/source/path1 Target: t1.domain.local Target Path: /ifs/target/path1 Snapshot Sync Pattern: sync_path1 Schedule: when-snapshot-taken Name: path1_to_t2 Path: /ifs/source/path1 Target: t2.domain.local Target Path: /ifs/target/path1 Snapshot Sync Pattern: sync_path1 Schedule: when-snapshot-taken
