When a user selects specific clients to replicate in policy-based replication, clients that were deleted from vCenter cannot be selected. These clients appear in the subdomain. However, there is no check box select the clients. The clients are "greyd out." Hovering over the clients displays a message that the client is not addressable. Replicating the entire subdomain or replicating all clients does allow the deleted clients to be replicated.
This issue is a known defect that is resolved in the Avamar 7.4 release. This issue is observed in Avamar 7.3.x.
In Avamar 7.4, clients that were deleted in vCenter can be selected as replication group members. If the upgrade to Avamar 7.4 cannot be performed, the client can be added to the replication group using the mccli command. Run the following command to get the replication group name: mccli group show | grep Replication Run the following command to add the client to the replication group. Replace the placeholders with the actual values: mccli group add-client --client-name=/<path>/<to>/<client> --name=/<replication group name>
