When trying to run 'nfs4_setfacl' on a file in the nfs export on the UNIX client, it fails with the following error. # nfs4_setfacl -a A::username@nfsdomain:rwaDxtTnNcCy /filename Failed setxattr operation: Invalid argument
This is because the Data-mover/VDM is not able to query the user from the LDAP/Naming server, even though the 'server_ldap' command works. In other words, the DM name service was not configured to query the LDAP.
Download the nsswitch.conf file from the physical data-mover on the /home/nasadmin directory (first) [root@VNX~]# server_file server_2 -get nsswitch.conf nsswitch.conf server_2 : done Upload the nsswitch.conf file from /home/nasadmin onto the VDM. [root@VNX~]# server_file vdm1 -put nsswitch.conf nsswitch.conf vdm1 : done
