Affected Platforms: XPS 13 DX13260 USB Type-C functionality may be impacted on the XPS 13 DX13260 during power-on, reboot, or resume from sleep. The following symptoms may occur: Symptom 1: External monitors are not detected or do not display video. USB 3.2 devices or hubs operate at USB 2.0 speeds. Symptom 2: After the operating system loads, the USB Type-C ports does not detect connected devices. Symptom 3: The computer does not power on during initial out-of-box setup when an AC adapter is connected. After the operating system loads, the AC adapter is not recognized and the battery does not charge.
Note: This article is internal only. Remember this when talking to the customer. The BIOS is causing this behavior.
Workaround: Disconnect and then reconnect the USB Type-C device, or AC adapter Reboot computer If the computer still fails, press the power button for twenty-five seconds to force shutdown until the keyboard light comes on, then release power bottom to recover the USB-C devices. Long-term solution Dell engineering has released a fix in BIOS v1.6.0 or later.
