The 'db_host' health-check queries the vCenter Application Programming Interface (API), for all the hosts using the vSAN datastore ID. This data is checked for consistency against the nodes listed in the VxRail Manager database data. Test ResultResult code Result InterpretationPass0The vSAN datastore and VxRM database matchWarning1This test has no warning response.Failure2DO-host returned no host entries.Critical3DO-host queries failed. If this still occurs after rerunning VxVerify, troubleshoot DO-Host. Each test that passes is not listed in the summary report, for ease of reading. An example of the health-check output, when vSAN is over 75% full, is shown below: #========================#======#=========#====================================================================#==============# | Hostname / Category |Status Dell_KB | Warnings or Failures, unless tests Passed ; Product S.N. | #========================#======#=========#====================================================================#==============# | Node1 | Failure 45523 | db_host: Nodes missing from Datastore MOB [node01, node02] .|
The 'db_host' test queries the DO-Host on VxRail Manager (VxRM), for all the nodes, in comparison to the entries in the VxRM 'node.node' table.The database can be queried with a PSQL command such as: psql -U node_owner vxrail -c "select * from node.node;" id | uuid | sn | segment_id | chassis_id | slot | configuration_state | status | is_primary | type | m2m_info ----+--------------------------------------+---------+------------+----------------+------+---------------------+--------+------------+---------+---------- 1 | 4c4c0000-0059-3810-8059-c3c04f000000 | CY8Y000 | 0 | CY8Y0000000000 | 1 | CONFIGURED | NORMAL | t | CLUSTER | 2 | 4c4c0000-0059-3810-8059-c4c04f000000 | DY8Y000 | 0 | DY8Y0000000000 | 1 | CONFIGURED | NORMAL | t | CLUSTER | 3 | 4c4c0000-0059-3810-8059-c5c04f000000 | EY8Y000 | 0 | EY8Y0000000000 | 1 | CONFIGURED | NORMAL | t | CLUSTER | The output of a similar command can be seen in the VxVerify log (vxv.log): [host_cred] vxrail.node: [{'id': 1, 'uuid': '4c4c0000-0059-3810-8059-c3c04f000000', 'sn': 'CY8Y000', 'chassis_id': 'CY8Y0000000000', 'configuration_state': 'CONFIGURED', 'status': 'NORMAL', 'is_primary': True}, If hosts are missing from DO-host data, the health-check returns a failure: DO-host returned no host entries
If the VxRail Manger DB table for hosts (marvin: vxrailhost), does not match the vSAN Datastore, then the morefid entries (for example ''host-10"), must be corrected in the "vxrailhost" table. Contact Dell Support for assistance.
