An update to NetWorker version 19.13.0.2 fails during installation with an error indicating that a cabinet (.cab) file has an invalid digital signature. The following certificates are already installed: Entrust – Trusted Root Certification AuthoritiesDigiCert Trusted Root G4 – Trusted Root Certification Authorities
The NetWorker 19.13.0.2 update package uses a timestamping certificate chain that includes Sectigo Public Time Stamping Root R46. If this certificate is not installed in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store, Windows cannot validate the digital signature, causing the update to fail.
Install the Sectigo Public Time Stamping Root R46 certificate into the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store, then retry the update. Certificate Installation Instructions (Windows) Option 1: Install Using the Certificate Wizard (Recommended) Download the Sectigo Public Time Stamping Root R46 certificate (.cer file) from a trusted source.Double‑click the certificate file.Click Install Certificate.Select Local Machine and click Next. If prompted by UAC, click Yes. Choose Place all certificates in the following store.Click Browse, select Trusted Root Certification Authorities, then click OK.Click Next, then Finish.Confirm that the message "The import was successful” is displayed. Option 2: Install Using Microsoft Management Console (MMC) Press Win + R, type mmc, and press Enter.Go to File → Add/Remove Snap‑in.Select Certificates, click Add, then choose Computer account.Select Local computer, then click Finish and OK.Navigate to: Certificates (Local Computer) └─ Trusted Root Certification Authorities └─ Certificates Right‑click Certificates → All Tasks → Import.Follow the Certificate Import Wizard and select the Sectigo Public Time Stamping Root R46 certificate.Ensure that the certificate is placed in Trusted Root Certification Authorities.Complete the wizard.
