Symptoms

Recovery of SAP HANA database from a clone pool asks for the volumes from the backup pool.NSR_RECOVER_POOL option is set in the nmsap_init_hana.utl file.

Cause

Not all the SAP HANA catalog found on the clone volume

Resolution

It is the functionality of SAP HANA to find the latest catalog and recover it from the media.To recover SAP HANA database on the remote host from the clone pool, all the logs including the SAP HANA catalog and the datafiles must be on the clone volume.If the most recent catalog is not on the clone volume, the recovery process tries to get the catalog from the backup volume. This is a normal SAP HANA recovery behavior.Another option for this type of SAP HANA recovery would be to use prefix (see NetWorker: Recover SAP HANA database using the prefix option for more information).
