Dell laptop running Ubuntu may have issues waking up from suspend by pressing the power button. Pressing touchpads or keyboards wake up the laptop with no issues. Affected Platforms: Dell 15 DC15255Dell Pro 15 Essential PV15255 Affected Operating System: Ubuntu
An update in the power button method caused the issue.
Note: Before starting the update, perform the following: Back up all personal data. For more information, refer to Back Up and Recovery.Connect the AC adapter. Updating the BIOS to version 1.7.0 and later for DC15255 and 1.6.0 and later for PV15255 resolves the issue. To download and install the BIOS, refer to the BIOS Update Guide.
